Gardening: Iím a lively speaker on subjects pertaining to gardening, with a list of popular topics to choose from. My talks are accompanied by visual presentations and handouts as required, and Iíve been known to bring along surprise donations to offer as door prizes or other incentives.

Schools: Through the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia, I have participated in the Writers in the Schools program since 2007. Although I am sometimes called upon to give presentations on writing when I visit schools, more often than not the educators are keen to have me discuss some aspect of gardening.

Teaching: Through the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia, I have given a number of well-attended workshops on freelance writing. These normally run for 6-8 weeks, once a week for several hours. Iím also available to do half-day or day-long workshops on writing, be it for blogging, social media, journaling, or freelancing.

Consulting: This is a specialized area developed from my passion for gardening and horticulture. If you have problem areas in your garden, or are a new homeowner who wants some help with developing your yardscape potential, I can help. We start with a discussion of your likes and abilities by email, and work to an onsite visit and evaluation. I provide you with some recommendations for planting design and plants, which you can do yourself or through a landscaping professional.

I'm thrilled to bits to announce the arrival of my new book from Nimbus Publishing, Plants for Atlantic Gardens. The official launch is in a couple of weeks, and there will be a number of signings, sales, talks, etc around the region. The book will be available in bookstores throughout our region and beyond (later for the USA). For those who want a personalized copy but aren't in Nova Scotia (the only place I will be touring for the time being), I have books for sale, payable via Paypal. The price with taxes and shipping included is 39.95 in North America.
